International Traumainformed Care

In COOPERATION with QUALITY4CHILDREN – GLOBAL ACADEMY

PRACTICE – TRAINING

Research shows that children, young people, and adults, especially children in alternative care settings, are likely to have been exposed to childhood trauma and neglect.

TIP training is designed to develop the participants’ knowledge and skills in supporting people who may have been affected by trauma.

It enables participants to critically reflect on the impact of trauma on development, to share their experiences through collaboration with others on the course and to develop trauma-informed resources and knowledge.

It aims at creating awareness that trauma responses are normal responses to abnormal circumstances, and that we need not be defined and limited by our trauma, but we have what it takes to experience post-traumatic growth, especially with the support of others

GOAL

To equip participants with basic knowledge on trauma and to pick their curiosity so that they can further develop their own resources and deepen their knowledge.

This trauma-informed-care training will enable participants to participate in the planned follow-up training (planned for 2023) to become a trauma-informed-care facilitator with Dr. Teresa Ngigi.
